BikePark Wales was born from a passion to create the best mountain bike facility in the UK, the UK's first full scale bike park to rival the best in the World. The BikePark Wales team have grafted day and night to create this incredible facility.  BikePark Wales is built for riders, by riders.

Due to growth in the business we are seeking a new hire manager to lead our expanding bike hire team. BikePark Wales is a busy and specialist environment focussing on high end mountain bikes and customer experience, so an excellent level of knowledge in the field is required from all applicants. This opportunity will allow the successful candidate to continue the great work done to date by Mark, our existing workshop manager and to work with him to further improve our levels of customer service, systems, processes and team structure.

The ideal candidate will be a fun, engaging individual who is organised, experienced and great with people. Previous hire experience is a must. We are of course a trail head location and our team and customers love to ride, so it would seem amiss if our hire manager wasn’t a passionate rider themselves! 

Our mechanics are an experienced and hardworking bunch with a shared love of riding bikes, working as close as possible to the trails and providing industry leading levels of service, we are looking for a manager who shares these values. 

The successful candidate will bring with them previous hire experience as well as a mechanical aptitude.

An eye for detail, an ability to analyse, report on and react to any issues, as well as an ability to bring structure and efficiency to the team are all desirable in the ideal candidate.

This role is advertised at an exciting time for the business, as a major development project gets underway to improve the facilities at the bike park which will include a new bespoke visitor welcome/bike hire centre during 2020. 

Key Attributes:                                  

  • Previous Hire and Customer Service experience, within the bike industry.
  • Hard working and passionate.
  • An ability to create, amend, implement and monitor systems and processes to ensure standards and safety are maintained at all times
  • Understanding of stock, costing and its movement.
  • Ability to come up with new ideas to further advance and develop the current offering.
  • Well versed with all our key brands - Trek, Shimano, Muc Off, WTB. As well as great up to date knowledge within the bike industry.
  • Able to prioritise workload.
  • A proactive approach to team development.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work under your own initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Desirable attributes would include:                             

  • Previous Hire and Customer Service experience, within the bike industry.
  • Welsh speaker
  • Citrus Lime POS and Workshop Module experience.
  • Mechanical experience is always beneficial in understanding the requirements of the Job.
