Uplift ticketing trial cancelled
Uplift ticketing trial cancelled
Unless you were hiding under a rock all day yesterday you’ll have noticed that we made an announcement about a proposed change to the way we sell our uplift tickets. Despite significant research it looks like we have massively underestimated how much our customers value the PAYG system. For this reason we will NOT be proceeding with the trial announced on April 16th and the current PAYG system will remain in place. We have listened to the feedback which is overwhelmingly in support of the PAYG system and as improved customer service is the driver for the proposed trial there is no longer any sense in running it.
The introduction of the trial was driven by negative feedback on the PAYG system at peak periods when some customers have experienced longer waits, perhaps we’ve focussed too much on the negative and missed the positive sentiment towards the system? We are still committed to tackling the issues that can be faced by PAYG customers during peak times and we will be closely monitoring PAYG ticket sales during the busiest times of the year and managing this. Additionally, as we’ve already announced we are investing in a significant road improvement scheme and new larger vehicles which will help to further improve the service.
Sorry that we misjudged the situation this time but be assured we are listening and that our customers come first.
Thanks for your support
