New summer evening race series - Monarch of the Park

Our Monarch of the park series is all about low-key relaxed fun, racing great trails, enjoying a beer and some food with friends…..and of course beating your mates.

The four round series will be raced on a variety of gravity focussed trails in the park, each with some new twists and additions to keep things fresh.  Uplift will be on-hand on a pay as you go basis should you wish to use it, if not riders can pedal to the top.

Riders who approach the series with a fun-loving attitude will be well rewarded and those taking themselves or the event too seriously risk facing severe punishment.  Our park sponsors have supplied some truly awesome prizes, most of which will be awarded to riders who best embody the spirit of the series, there will of course be plenty of beer awarded as prizing too!  Talking of beer, the £10 race entry will include a free beer at the end of the race, just swap your race number in the café for a cold one.

All four rounds are now live and open to enter via the events page  on our website and we have given a guide indicating the grade of trail we will use for each round.  The actual trails will be kept super-secret until the evening of the event – remember these are fun events and practising every turn 100 times during the week leading up to the event is severely frowned upon, we will be watching…

 

Round 1: Friday 7th June - blue & red trails - chainless

Round 2: Friday 21st June  -  black trails (no huge jumps)

Round 3: Friday 5th July – blue trails

Round 4: Friday 19th July – red trails – fancy dress season-ender, king and queen of the park coronation

 

The final round on Friday 19th July will be a fancy-dress extravaganza and the series winners will be crowned king and queen of the park 2019.
