Make the most of half term!

Posted on 07 Feb 2023

With half term just on the horizon we’re often asked, “what’s the best way to enjoy the park with young children?”

We appreciate that not all little rippers will be able to do a full day on the uplift, but did you know we also offer pay as you go uplift options for kids as well as adults?

Single uplift runs for adults and kids can be purchased from the reception desk on the day, and we have discounted rates for younger riders. Single uplift runs are subject to availability as weekends can be busy, so, if possible, we recommend visiting weekdays through the half terms to take full advantage.

  • 12 years old and under = £3.50 per run
  • 13 years old and over = £5 per run

We've also pulled together some frequently asked questions that you may find helpful.

Will we need pedal passes?

Anyone riding at the park will need to have a pedal pass in order to use the PAYG uplift service. They can either be purchased on the day at reception or in advance via 'pedal passes' page.

Pedal passes cost £17 and children under 10 years old can receive a free pedal pass when accompanied by a paying adult.

Do you have a minimum rider age?

We don’t have a minimum rider age as it’s down to the guardian to determine if a child is able to ride our trails.

If you’re unsure what our trails are like you can find videos and more information about each of our trails via our 'trails page'.

Do children’s bikes fit on the uplift?

Yes, bikes with wheels 14” or larger will fit on our uplift trailers and our team will be happy to help load them for you.

What’s the best trail to ride?

Just like a minimum rider age, it’s up the guardian to decide what trails a child can ride. We’d always suggest starting off on one of our easier trails such as Kermit and working up from there.

More info on our trail grades and videos can be found on our 'trails page'.

What bike will my child need?

To ride at the park any bike will need to have off road tyres and two working brakes as a minimum.

Sorry, kids seats and trailers are not allowed on our trails. As much as we love seeing little ones out in trailers and kids seats it just isn’t safe enough to use them on our trails.

When are you open?

We’ll be open 7 days a week from February 13th to the 19th, and then open 5 days the following week, from the 22nd to the 26th.

We hope to see you and your little rippers on the trails soon!
