Terry's Belly now open!

Posted on 15 Jun 2017

The Trail Crew have worked their magic once again giving Terry’s Belly some much needed TLC. It’s been a big project for the Trail Crew requiring some serious hard graft to shift over 400 tonnes of surfacing up the hill, along with countless hours of whacking!

let’s take a look at exactly what they’ve been up to over the last 6 weeks.

The main reason for closing Terry’s Belly was to resurface a large majority of the trail. Since opening in 2015 it’s seen over 150,000 runs and had become a little rough.

Once all the new surfacing had been delivered from a local quarry the Trail Crew set to work moving it all up the hill.

Before any new surfacing could be put in place the team took the opportunity to reshape some existing berms as well as adding a few new ones!

Whilst some of the work was carried out with machinery a huge amount of work has been done by hand, come rain or shine.

Once all the tweaks had been made and the new surfacing was in place, the whacking began. The guys have put some serous man hours into making Terry’s Belly the ultimate flow trail that will have any rider dreaming of berms for weeks to come.

As always Loki was on hand to make sure everything went to plan and made sure that any stray sticks were either eaten or burried in the woods.

With any project the Trail Crew undertake they make sure that it’s been tested and that any tweaks are made before reopening. Not a bad perk to the job ey!

We hope you enjouy the reworked Terry’s Belly and don’t forget it is because of your entrance fees that we can spend so much time mainitnaing and building new trails, every penny we take in entry fees (and a lot more!) is reinvested in the trails, so keep on riding and we’ll keep on building!
