Merthyr Del Sol

Posted on 24 Apr 2015

It's been hotter than a blacksmiths flipflop here in Merthyr and the trails are running faster than...well...faster than that same blacksmith sprinting off to the duck pond after a hot bit of clinker fell onto his toes due to his inappropriate footwear. Here's a quick update on what's been happening on the mountain from trail crew Billy..

Tom and Emlyn have been busy painting and installing trail marker posts. Each one is numbered so now when you crash, write the post number on your BPW Crash Bingo card and win a prize. This weeks number; two little ducks with gravel rash...22.

I always wanted to be a tree surgeon but couldn't stand the sight of sap. I've overcome the root of the problem and am now qualified to take down any large tree that blocks the trail.

Work has now started on the new low impact nature reserve...(Before we get a bucket load of letters, this is actually an NRW quarry, crushing road stone ;-))

That's all from the trails this week.  Have a great weekend!
